How can we care for ourselves and those we are walking with? 

This resource provides clarity and safety for you and those you're accompanying. The script can be used in a table host scenario and edited for 1-1 Accompaniment.

The number below leads to a Catholic Charities that can be the point of reference for anything clinical. This preamble is what was used at a local university to set the stage in student peer conversations.

‍30‑second Script (Table Accompaniment):

‍“Welcome—this is a conversation space, not a classroom. Share only what you’re comfortable sharing. What’s said at the table stays at the table. We won’t repeat names or stories outside this group. If something raises a safety concern, we’ll get help — that’s the only exception.”

‍Need help now? Pull aside a core team member on site and have someone call 911 in the event of an emergency.

‍Referrals for Clinical Support: 

‍Catholic Charities is our supportive partner regarding behavioral health. We have established a relationship with them that will allow us to provide a direct route to clinical intake.

If an individual in your group is requesting or seeking that type of support, please speak with a member of the core team who will help you to make the referral.

The individual may call 312.655.7725 to pursue intake. He/she/they should mention that they were encouraged to seek support through their experience at Human Chicago.
