A worthy pursuit*

The journey into what it means to truly be human.
Welcome to *Human

Who am I, really, underneath everything external? What gives meaning to all I do each day? What do I stand for, and how do I stay true to my values under pressure?  Is deep, settled fulfillment and happiness even possible for me? Is there a purpose to my one, specific life? Is there more than what I see and know?

These are the questions so many of us are asking deep down. We feel it in the longings for more, and the restlessness in our everyday lives. It can feel impossible to know where to begin or how to start finding answers. But we believe true meaning and fulfillment are possible. We believe you can find clarity and authenticity in your life and purpose. And it starts in community.

We believe true meaning and fulfillment are possible. We believe you can find clarity and authenticity in your life and purpose. And it starts in community.
What is *Human

*Human Chicago is a community searching for meaning, purpose, belonging, and ultimately, on a shared quest into what it means to be fully human. We believe the best way to do this starts in relationship through dialogue around who we are and how we experience the world.

Our team is made up of spiritual seekers, psychologists, theologians, and those with a deep commitment to help others become fully themselves.

We facilitate “round-table” dialogue around our longings, hopes, dreams, and struggles. We do this in group events, through digital resources, and 1-1 with guides trained to walk alongside you.

Who are guides?

Someone who has committed to being with another person in their journey. Like a friend who’s on their own spiritual path, they are not there to bring answers but to be present to you and help you navigate towards clarity.

Capable of being a humble loving presence, listening empathetically, and able to understand and hold another’s worldview, guides have been prepared to honor and serve you well.

Where did *Human come from?

*Human was developed in partnership with individuals from the Archdiocese of Chicago (the local Catholic faith community) and Glass Canvas (a ministry focused on accompaniment). Our desire as people of faith is to connect with those outside of our circles in a loving and judgment-free way.

This community was created to meet those who are searching for more, to provide a space where we can get to know you and support you. How can we serve you better? What matters most to you right now? What would bring more peace, meaning, or connection to your life and relationships? Our hope is that, through authentic connection in community, you begin to experience greater relational wellbeing, renewed sense of purpose, and a deep lasting joy.
