Beauty as a Doorway
An evening art walk at the Art Institute of Chicago with art historian Joe Cunniff, followed by reflection and a social at Miller's Pub. Thursday, August 13 · 6:30-9:30pm.

The invitation
We invite you to not breeze through the Art Institute, but to take time to pause with new friends in front of these incredible pieces of art; be present to the questions it awakens in us; attune ourselves to the emotions the art arises; create space for the art to open our minds and calm us down after a stressful day.
Joe Cunniff, a local renowned art historian, will guide us deeper this evening, and we will have space to wonder, in partnership with one another. We would love for you to join us after your 9 to 5.
We believe that cultivating the art of attention is a practice that is a gateway into receptivity, to understand yourself and others.
Who is this for?
If you are interested in seeing art with fresh eyes, and perhaps yourself with fresh eyes too, this event is for you. Our hope is that you come away from our event with a grounded presence you can take with you, deeper self-knowledge, and art and conversation that touches your soul.
When
Thursday, August 13 · 6:30 to 9:30pm
Doors open at 5:45, so you are welcome to arrive early to say hello, check your bag, or see some art (the evening hours start at 5:00) before joining up with our group. Please arrive by 6:15 to check in so we can begin on time.
We will continue the conversation during the evening with a social in the upper room at Miller's Pub starting at 8pm. Our program will wrap at 9:30, but if you want to linger and chat with us, we will be there until 10pm.
Where
We will meet at the Art Institute of Chicago at the Modern Wing entrance 159 Monroe St. (We will exit at the main Michigan Avenue entrance after our visit). You will see one of our team members with a light up *Human Chicago cube in the main lobby area by the coat and bag check.
